Karen Sorreles

Youth Development Liaison

Karen has over 22 years at the Midwest Regional ESC. She began her career with the LCESC in the Special Education department and then became the EMIS Coordinator. Currently at the MRESC she is working as the Youth Development Liaison. Karen coordinates many all-county school events. Some of these events include: College Day, The Career Expo and Career Day which prepares students for their future occupations.

Other events showcasing students would be the Logan County Spelling Bee, The Academic Achievement Breakfast and the Logan County Music and Art festival. Youth Leadership and Choices are a couple of Programs coordinated by the YDL. Youth Leadership is made up of students 9th-12th who attend programming to enhance their leadership potential. They then organize projects that Impact their community, school and county.

The Choices program is geared to helping middle school students make good choices. Local agencies and law enforcement volunteers support Karen with this event. Karen strives to create and locate ways to prepare our future generations to be successful.

In her spare time she loves spending time with her husband of 31 years, her two daughters, their spouses and her joy-her 2 grandsons. She also likes to work-out, play in the dirt and enjoy life.
